      1. Prior to appointment in the advanced endoscopy fellowship, fellows should have completed a three-year ACGME-accredited gastroenterology fellowship

Additional Information about Program

The mission of our training program is to prepare gastroenterology fellows for a career in academic therapeutic endoscopy. Our advanced endoscopy fellowship program offers comprehensive training in diagnostic and therapeutic EUS, ERCP and endoluminal stent placement. Fellows have opportunities for additional training in such therapeutic endoscopy techniques as: advanced endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), endohepatology and endoscopic therapies for dysplastic Barrett's esophagus. Dedicated training in POEM and ESD is available based on the interest, aptitude, and career goals of the trainee. Advanced endoscopy fellows are expected to design and complete research projects for presentation at national scientific meetings and publication in peer reviewed journals.
