Additional Information about Program

Dear AEF Applicant,

We welcome you to apply to our Combined Therapeutic Endoscopy at Northwell (CTEN) fellowship program; which represents one of the most unique training opportunities in New York.

We have modeled our program in order to maximize the fellow’s experience at Northwell Health and take advantage of the ample resources offered by our institution. The fellowship includes two tertiary care teaching hospitals: North Shore University Hospital (Manhasset, NY) and Long Island Jewish Medical Center (New Hyde Park, NY).

Rotating between these academic medical centers will provide the advanced endoscopy fellow with a unique opportunity to be trained in a breadth of advanced therapeutic endoscopic procedures under the tutelage of several of our advanced faculty. The fellow will be exposed to high volume ERCP, diagnostic and interventional EUS, ESD, POEM, EMR, stenting, and ablation therapy (RFA, cryotherapy, hybrid APC).

In addition to performing both outpatient and inpatient advanced endoscopic procedures, the fellow will be responsible for participating in the inpatient advanced endoscopy teams’ rounds, presenting at biweekly hepatobiliary/pancreas conferences, as well as submitting interesting endoscopy cases for presentation/publication.

The fellow will be working with the following 4th year trained advanced endoscopy faculty:

Juan Carlos Bucobo, MD
Chris DiMaio, MD
Henry Jen, MD
Calvin Lee, MD
Nichol Martinez, MD
Kara Raphael, MD
Kaveh Zivari, MD

We look forward to receiving your application!
